Summative tasks include tests, investigations, projects and literacy and numeracy tasks which are assessed against the following criteria: Students are expected to reflect regularly on their teaching and learning through weekly Quick Writes and fortnightly Learning Logs. Numeracy skills are developed and reinforced through inquiry tasks, problem solving activities and the use of the online educational program Mathletics. These capabilities enable students to respond to familiar and unfamiliar situations by employing mathematical strategies to make informed decisions and solve problems efficiently. The mathematics curriculum focuses on developing and refining students proficiency in fluency, understanding, reasoning and problem-solving. Topics are covered under the three Content Strands of Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability.
